Meg Ryan frequently is told she looks like Brenda K. Clevenger, ABC, Proprietor of CornerBarPR. But it's Brenda's brains, inspiration, drive, and vision that power Group Renaissance, a marketing, PR, and MR agency ranking somewhere in the top 20 in the Kansas City area. In a previous life, Brenda published the KC version of the FinderBinder, which gave her the idea for CornerBarPR's Contacts on Tap? (CornerBarPR does it better). She also has fiddled around with nonprofits, the corporate world, healthcare, energy, and a couple of other agencies. Brenda loves to write; in j-school, she carried her own typewriter to class so she could compose without waiting for a station. (Oops! Automatic disqualification from Gen-X!) Brenda has a master's degree in media communications, plays a mean game of tennis, is tolerated by two cats, and, until recently, lived in a loft, which should endear her to New Yorkers everywhere. Now Rusty and Redford get to enjoy her brand-new condo.

Richard B. Barger, ABC, APR, is well-chosen as CornerBarPR's Chief Curmudgeon; he's our version of Andy Rooney -- loves words, particularly loves to complain about idiocy. In his spare time, Rich runs the inventively named Barger Consulting, where he conducts strategic communications planning and research, and gives people advice whether they want it or not. Rich has done time as managing editor of the public relations division of a 180-person agency, and as a wire service editor, an economic analyst, a federal investigator, and, bless his little muddy boots, a farmer. He fancies himself a pretty fair country editor and is famous among about half a dozen people as "The Voice of IABC." Rich refuses to answer the phone during Mizzou basketball games, plays a hard-edged game of bridge, and is married to a woman he doesn't like to talk about much, because she's smarter and much nicer than he is.

There's nothing Randy Leiker can't do when it comes to Web programming. He could be in the next sequel of X-Men, cast as a mutant called Flash. With 25 years? experience crammed into ten+ years as a professional Internet Web site developer, Leiker is multi-lingual: HTML, Cold Fusion, JavaScript, C++, Flash, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, SMIL, XML, XYZ, PLUGH, EIEIO, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree. Leiker has worked on high-profile Web sites for some 90 -? or is that 900? -? clients, including a whole bunch of recent Internet start-ups. Anything good about the way our site ?- and, in particular, our killer directory, Contacts On Tap ? works is because of Randy?s skillful handling of impossible demands from Brenda and Rich. When he?s not improving CornerBarPR, Randy is the president of Skyway Networks. Move over Bill Gates -- here comes R. Leiker!

Don't mess with Maureen Elton; she'll slap you silly if you interrupt her research rhythm. Maureen is a wonderfully detail-oriented, sequential type, with the mouth of a sailor. We love her dearly and couldn't manage our terrific directory of media contacts without her keen eye and fast fingers. Maureen manages the day-to-day details of CornerBarPR and serves as our lead researcher. Our Contacts On Tap directory has thousands and thousands entries; Maureen is VERY tired. Before coming to work at our bar, Maureen earned her stripes assisting several agencies with their office management and bookkeeping. Prior to supporting agencies, Elton was the office manager at Automated Data Processing. Statements like ?the check?s in the mail? don't cut it with Maureen.

Jon Saura works at the whim of our Chief Curmudgeon.. An illustrator at heart, Jon holds a day job with a K.C.-based advertising and marketing communications agency, where he's reputed to be the creative and graphics guru. Sure. Jon says this P.A.C.C. gig damn well better result in some attention for his illustration-graphics-design business, Saura Creative, because he has a wife, four young'ns, and a couple of Jack Russell Terriers to support. Instead of therapy -- Oh, come on; how hard can drawing pictures really be? -- Jon spends time fishing, playing the guitar, and wandering around the countryside?s lush, green fields, whacking his balls. He'd be another Tiger Woods, if it weren't for the talent thing. He claims to have a BFA in design and ten years of professional experience ranging from b2b marketing to editorial cartooning.
