About The Author

Jill "J.R." Labbe is the senior editorial writer and columnist for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where she is known among her colleagues as the "God, guns, and good government girl' for her columns' recurring themes. Her career path to the pinnacle of Fort Worth punditry, however, was atypical for a journalist. Her previous work experience includes a stint as a public relations coordinator for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, selling Danish and renting beds in the North Texas hotel industry for 10 years, and laboring as the public relations/office help for the Fort Worth Sesquicentennial Commission -- all of which makes her well qualified to write about Congress.
