(It doesn't make us feel a bit better, but he lost all his personal email messages -- everything sent to during those four days -- too.)

Nothing is wrong with the and Contacts On Tap™ servers; your personal data and contact lists weren't compromised.

Indeed, we even received your messages; the Chief Curmudgeon simply lost them. If he weren't one of our owners, we'd fire his ass.

But we do not have any patron messages from those four days, so, if you tried to contact us by email, please send your message again.

We apologize.

By the way, we also lost all the spam messages from the same period -- we receive nearly 2000 each day -- but if it's too much trouble, you don't have to re-send those.
