What Was Ogilvy & Mather Snorting?

The civil suit is resolved, but the scandal lives on. Legendary Ogilvy & Mather added to its legacy by overcharging its client, the Office of National Drug Control Policy, around $850,000. Ogilvy's greed or drug impairment cost its owner, WPP Group of London, $1.8 million to settle.

However, we are unsure which party was smoking the crack, the plaintiff or the defendant. Rather than terminating the relationship, the Office of National Drug Control remains associated with Ogilvy, while rivals circle for the $140 million in annual billings (or at least droppings off it). Perhaps the Office of National Drug Control needs to go to agency rehab.
